The breakfast was excellent. However, as I hadnt paid for it in advance, when I tried to pay on leaving, the staff seemed confused about how to handle. They were very easy to work with and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

The location was amazing. Our stay coincided with the beginning of Semana Santa, and our balcony overlooked the evening procession. There was also a great selection of restaurants to choose from right nearby. Good breakfast in the morning.

It all started with merluza! After a wild, wintry snowy climb over the Cruz de Ferro with 5-8 cm of snow, a slippery descent into Molinaseca where snow gave way to rain, I arrived in Molinseca wet, cold and weary after 25km. Lunch! The best—the absolute best—merluza ever had in 14 Caminis de Santiago. And I have eaten many merluza lunches—-sublime! Gracias! And Raul—-welcoming, warm, gracious. His father is the chef. Superb! So I booked a room. Fantastic! A giant and very comfortable bed. A big room. Spotlessly clean. A hot and very powerful shower. A very, very happy peregrino. Muchas gracias Raul y Papa Chef—-superb!

Lovely warm, clean and spacious room. Bernard the host, was most accommodating and looked after me very well considering I speak no Spanish. Met some good people and very much enjoyed my visit. I hope to return one day.. Recommended

Nice Patio with garden with great view, excellent kitchen and good beds. And for sure ride the Puerto the Portillinos either by "Bici" or Car. And only look at the castle of Ponferrade from the outside as the museum inside is not worth visiting until they have finished the renovation.
