Brisbane House Hotel, hotel in Millport

The contemporary Brisbane House Hotel is located on the seafront promenade of Largs in North Ayrshire, offering magnificent views of Millport and the West coast of Scotland.

The beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast choices were exceptional!!! Just when I thought it was just going to be a continental breakfast, the hostess asked if I wanted anything 'made to order,' and that this was part of the price I had paid! I then ordered a ham and cheese omelette on both days, which was absolutely delicious! Nice hot showers too and very secure locking door. I also liked that there were USB ports near the desk in the room!

Very nice breakfast, full English with orange juice, coffee and toast. Choice of scrambled, boiled, fried or poached eggs. Could have had porridge or cereal too. Staff very friendly. Comfortable bed, good size of room. Two nice chairs. Maybe a little old fashioned but otherwise no complaints

Millport is a very traditional Scottish family holiday location. Don't expect too many frills. Cafes offer standard food and not a great deal of choice. However the people are warm and friendly and the ales and atmosphere in the local pubs are good. There is a local bus service , bike hire and walking trails. Getting back to the mainland is very easy and takes 10 mins on the ferry that runs every 30 mins. If you love golf the golf course is a joy to play but dont expect a posh clubhouse. The bar is basic at best and the food could be better. At present there is a lot of work going on at the north end of the town to improve flood defences so shut your eyes at that point.

Lovely wee place to visit. No public toilets.

Lovely wee place to visit. No public toilets. The only toilets had been vandalised but cost 40 pence a time. Disgraceful for a holiday island! Plenty to see and do - even with the restrictions - but the cutbacks are obvious.

Wehave known Millport ince we were children and we are now grandparents.Millport is the sort of place that people come back to. The pleasures of Millport are simple--cycling round the Island, picking out the various painted rocks, a stop at Fintry Bay, platying putting, having a ice cream ....Wonderful beaches.

Lovely for a day or two but most of the shops, galleries and cafes closed at the start of the week. Worth going to Fintray Bay for lunch. It’s very run down and needs to find something to give it all a lift and find a USP.
