The main coast road between Split and Dubrovnik (route 8) runs through Podstrana so it can be quite busy at times. However there are some really nice places to eat such as Hotel Eden and restaurant Arkada, both of which are mid-price range (but expensive if you have wine), but worth a visit at least once. Less expensive local eateries are about, but we were only there for 3 nights and made the most of it. There are several supermarkets along the main road for groceries etc. Most of the "beach" area appears to be pebbly/rocky, although we did not explore very far from our hotel. There is a main bus route through Podstrana which links it with Split centre.
Due to personal circumstances we did not venture very far so are unable to rate other possible attractions in the town.

I was staying just 2 nights so mainly relaxing. LOcation is good for exploring surroundings. I was hoping to go horse-riding on the mountains, but time was too short. Enough to see for a coulpe of days and beaches are good. Prices near the big hotel are more than in elsewhere in Croatia, but there's choice.

Quite far out from Split, expensive restaurants and expensive for sun beds/umbrellas at the beach, €40 Be careful of scam taxi drivers, we used Uber, it was average €15/€20 into and out of Split, we picked a taxi up on the street and he charged us €42.50 one way.

I can only guess that it was the time of year but there were very few restaurants or bars open.
The ride to the centre of Split is about 20 minutes in a taxi - we did attempt to walk on day but certainly for the first 3 to 4 km, there was no footpath.
Apart from some beaches, we found little of interest in Podstrana

love podstrana if u want a calm vacation. its the best beach in split area if u want something where it is not over crowded. would stay here again. tried more beached closer to split and i will never go back there. smells like urin, and is very dirty so would for sure stay in podstrana.
It is a small hotel next to the beach. There you find a restaurant as well. It is a perfect match for relaxing holidays. Wonderful view through the balcony. Beds were comfortable. They clean room and change towels every day. Staff was helpful. Hotel guests are allowed to use sunbeds and umbrellas for free. Kids can buy ice-cream during all the day. The area is quite crowdy during day. There are some parking places dedicated to the hotel guests. If you want to take a bus to Split, there is a bus stop only 3 min walking from the hotel.
The location was superb and so was our exceptional host. Beautiful beach opposite and the pool was a lovely bonus. We were two families and had booked two apartments. The apartments were so well equipped, clean and modern with air con. We were very lucky and would definitely recommend to others. Croatia is a beautiful place make sure you visit the Krka Waterfalls, Split town and Hvar you won't be disappointed. These apartments are ideally located just outside of Split and you can get an Uber or bus into town.
Great place to stay for vocations! All the photos of the residence are real. Very clean. Great sea view from the terrace. You have everything needed: stove oven, tea kettle, microwave, cups, dishes, knives, forks, spoons; safe; air conditioning; TV. Parking is directly in front of the residence. Bakery - 3 min walk, Mini market - 7 min walk. Bus stop to/from Split 1 min walk. Sea - 3 min walk, just across the road. Thank You for the hospitality. Definitely come again!
Planned a vacation with my mom here.
We were greeted with cold water bottles and a very clean room. Everything was perfect and the owners of the house treated us like family. We had our own parking spot and thanks to the stairway right down to the beach it only took us a minute to go to the sea from our room. We had a great time and if we’re going to Croatia again we’ll definitely try to stay here again! :)
Hvala!
The staff definitely! Everyone was so nice and helpful, really going the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, since i am vegan it was nice to have a healthy little corner. Everythign was super clean and comfortable, the prices were okay and the beach is right in front!! The hotel is also next to a bus stop, making it convenient to travel to split via bus/uber.
Everything was wonderful!
The location is on the seashore, the accommodation conditions are exceptional, everything is new and according to the descriptions.
Stjepan is a wonderful host!
For those who want to spend relaxing and wonderful days on the Croatian coast, I recommend with all confidence the accommodation at the Nada apartment in Podstrana.
We will definitely come back!
- Very well equipped flat with virtually all you need. There's a grill and a shop nearby with fresh fish every day.
- Communal and lively neighbourhood.
- Friendly and helpful host.
- Mosquito nets on all windows!
- Dedicated parking spot right near the entry to the flat.
- Easy drive to Split and if you have a car there's plenty of big supermarkets nearby.
I was on a 'workation' and the hotel was perfect for that - quiet location, comfortable room with decent working space, good internet, right on the beach for swimming breaks and awesome view from the balcony. Also relatively easy to get to Split by bus or taxi (if the main road is not too crowded), and lots of things to do or see around during the weekends.
The food was excellent, both the breakfast buffet and evening meal. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is immaculately clean. Very good position for the seafront and bus into Split. The pool area is lovely and clean. Good cocktails! The gym is well equipped and clean. Lovely rooms, clean, spacious and comfy beds.
Petra is a very nice host and provides any help on request. She welcomed us with a bottle of wine and sweets for kids - thank you. Very nice appartment, good size for family stay. Well equipped kitchen. Very nice beach close to "Split hotel"
Nice places to visit: Omis, Trogir and Split.
Will come back.
The hotel is just at the seaside. The hosts are the most pleasant and hospitable people I’ve met. The room is spacious with a huge patio with a seaside view. Very clean. All the kitchen appliances are available. Plenty of small supermarkets are around. 10 minute drive to the center of Split
Location and sceneries. It's easily to travel to/from Split. It has a nice and secluded beach front with picturesque paths to get to the beach. Also, it's easy to walk along the coast to get to various restaurants along the coast. We enjoyed the fireworks during our stay!
Really nice property. Felt very private and the location was very good. Didn't cost much to get into split and Market and beach was close by. I highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to come visit Split or Podstrana.
Beach access, nice calm beach area with food stands, ocean view, balcony, front desk made themselves available easily by phone for any reason, use of floats for playing in ocean, hotel restaurant open late, ice cream.
The apartment was spotless, very well equipped and the views were amazing. We liked how close it was to Split. The host and hostess were very accommodating with many suggestions on where to eat nearby..
The location was perfect; very near the beach, with easy access to Split and Trogir. The hotel and the pool was lovely and the owner very helpful and friendly.
