Vietri is an ideal staging point for a visit to the Amalfi Coast. Small but big enough to have all the amenities. Good choices of restaurants and cafes. Easy access from transport by train from Naples (nearest airport) or further afield. We travelled from Rome by train into next door Salerno. Great ferry services along the coast are great to use for a lunch or even early dinner and visit to any one of several lovely villages along the coast. Remember all these villages are built on the side of a cliff. Hills and steps are going to be a constant experience! If you like the hills and steps there are great walks in the area which will reward with views like nothing seen before.

Great base away from the madness of the rest of the coast.
Great base away from the madness of the rest of the coast. Train, bus, ferry to everywhere and you come home to a place thats more like a village than a tourist nightmare. Elevator to your beach. Staff are great. Room was good. We were in an upper room away from the functions and disco which was good. ( we went to the disco and had fun and fitted in as 60 yr olds). Loved the place and didn't have to contend with the rest of the mad over crowding of the rest of the coast. And tyhe parking guys are really cool.

Vietri is a very popular seaside town and gets very busy.
Vietri is a very popular seaside town and gets very busy. There are mainly ceramics and some clothing shops. Restaurants are plentiful and very reasonable with the fresh fish dishes excellent. There is also a restaurant which provides Pizza takeaway.
Parking is very difficult as is common on the Amalfi coast. If you take a car try and pre-arrange private parking in advance.
The beach is ok but quite a long downhill walk so the return journey is tedious. We chose to drive to Maori which is much more accessible and a better beach.

This is a wonderful and amazing little getaway nestled into the cliffs that overlook the Mediterranean and the beach below. HIlaria, the hostess is wonderful and helped us arrange tours, recommended restaurants and provided us with a driver for trips around town.
The rooms are large and airy and the bed is SO comfy. There is a full kitchen should you feel the need to cook.
The breakfast buffet is huge with many different options and choices, but the breads and local cheeses and meats were exceptional.
The stairs are steep but there are not nearly as many of them as at other places and the restaurant, Acqua Marina, right at the bottom of the stairs is one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever eaten in (and I'm a Chef).
We've only been home a month and we're already talking about going back next year.

The hotel stay was mediocre.
The hotel stay was mediocre. I highly recommend renting a car. The hotel does not have a shuttle service. We had to take a bus to the hotel once we figured out the system as well as asking locals. That was the worst part. Once we got to the hotel we realized due to its location and proximity in relation to things to do, we were going to have a hard time getting around. Taxis got to be expensive taking them back and forth. The hotel staff was nice for the most part with the exception of one member. She seemed upset there was a language barrier. Overall, the hotel was ok for the cost. I wouldn't stay again, however.

House is well located, in a very nice setting, close to Vietri and a good basis to move around the Amalfi Coast.
Parking in the property is a nice addition since overall parking in the area is tricky and expensive. The property was clean and relaxing. Breakfast was a nice surprise. The host Babu, was helpful and friendly and managed the difficult task of preparing task to 8 people at once with limited resources. Breakfast itself was nice, coffee, yogurts, croissants, etc.
We had a wonderful stay at the Ambrosea Amalfi Coast with our toddler. Carmen and her mom were so kind to our son, even made him pancakes every day and spoiling him with lots of attention. The property’s location is amazing, so easy to get to the other towns on the coast and Vietri sul Mare was a pleasant surprise, we absolutely loved it. The room was super clean and lovely decorated and you can see how much care Carmen puts into it. She also does the best cappuccino 🥰
Very nice room and very comfortable bed. Hotel we stayed night before we couldn’t sleep, we could almost feel spring through the mattress. So we caught up with our sleep at Monca’s.
Very sweet people and accommodating to every thing I needed like providing me iron and iron board and even lend me European ph charger as we left ours behind.
If we ever go to that location I would definitely stay at this place again.
The house is spacious and comfortable. It is located in a small community just a few minutes outside of Vietri. There is a bar/cafe next door and a couple of small stores nearby. There is a small parking lot in front of the apartment. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds are comfortable. There is a large, modern bathroom with good shower. We enjoyed our stay here in spite of a few minor inconveniences.
Pepe is the best host we ever had. Always looking to please, super kind and communication was always very easy.
Apartment is super well located in Vietri Sul Mare, 3 min walking distance from the beach.
Apartment is quite spacious, and has everything you need. We are a family of 5 and all was great
Place to recommend to everyone who wants to visit Costiere Amalfitana starting from Vietri
We loved our stay in Vietri sul Mare! It is an excellent place to make your home base as you explore the Amalfi Coast. The property was great for our needs as a family of four. The breakfast spread every morning was nice! Ilaria took exceptional care of us, recommending great places to eat, arranging a boat tour, helping us with the ferry, and getting some laundry done before we left.
Really nice boutique hotel, cool and interesting rooms with lots of space and good facilities. Amazing staff, Sanjiv was amazing always willing to help and do what he can. Morning breakfast was also super, lots of options and all made à la carte. Location was good, I would recommend a car as it's just easier to get around, and parking is right there at the hotel.
The place is just lovely, but the thing that actually made our stay magnificent was the two persons from the staff named Sanji and Ella, they were extremely friendly, polite and professional and we absolutely loved them! Hotel is very beautiful, clean and chill and if you ever go to Amalfi coast, this is the place! Thanks once again for everything!
We really loved the fact that we could hike to Vietri sul mare and Salerno. The view is beautiful everywhere you look! There are a lot of animals there (cows, goats, chickens, a cat) so if you love animals, its a little paradise! The host was very helpfull and made us feel at home. We really loved our time there !
Overall, the hotel was very nice, the staff were excellent and the views were amazing. Vietri as a town was relatively quiet, which suited us down to the ground, and it provided us with a great base from which to explore the Amalfi coast (whether by car, ferry or boat). We had a marvellous time!
The hotel is very clean and the people working there are very polite and the view from our room is very beautiful. But the parking area is a little problem because if there is any kind of problem they don't take any responsibility. All in all a very good place for a vacation
Authentic place / house, near trainstation and Vietri sul mare city (15 min by foot), host very friendly and pleasant, speak english, everything explained, owns his bar, where you can feel yourself like very special his guests, apartments clear and nice.
The breakfast selection was outstanding! Everything was either homemade or done locally.
The room had a great view, AC and a mini fridge as well as being a quite stay.
The host gave us great selection on what to see and what to eat in Vietri.
Beautiful hotel, very clean, very friendly staff, great service, great breakfast selection and the entire hotel and room was beautifully decorated with local Vietri sui Mare style ceramic tile. Would highly recommend and I will be back again.
The location of Ambrosea was excellent, right next to the train station and the town of Vietri. Excellent for getting around and seeing the town. The views are also beautiful from the rooms.
Super friendly host, easily reachable to reply to our questions and suggestions in the area
